On May 1st, 1998, Gabe Jerome Sr. set out to enjoy a routine day of New York State turkey hunting. Little did he know that trip would change his life forever! Gabe was involved in a tragic accident that had taken his eye sight instantly when he was shot by a careless Turkey Hunter. Ten years after the accident, Gabe has over come many challenges to perfect his hunting skills and has taken many big game animals, including moose, bear, caribou, and deer. Through it all, his passion is still the wild Turkey and has harvested several in his home state of New York. Although Gabe had lost his vision he has set his sights on perusing his dream and travel the country with his two sons, Gabe Jerome Jr., and Ronnie Jerome, to become the first blind hunter to harvest the illusive grand slam of wild turkey.
